Davidson Day of Service 2025

Nov 24, 2025

At Davidson, giving back to the communities in which we live and serve is a major part of our culture and daily lives. For the third consecutive year, we are pleased to participate in “Davidson Day of Service,” a companywide initiative aimed at giving back across all individual hotels and resorts within the portfolio. Read more to learn about how we are making an impact!

Davidson Corporate Office

This year, for our Davidson Day of Service, we are excited to partner with The Atlanta Mission to help spread holiday cheer to families in need.

As Davidson Elves, our role will be to help prepare for their Santa’s Workshop.  We will sort and wrap Christmas gifts for the clients of Atlanta Mission. In addition, we want to ensure that every family receives something special this holiday season so we have created an Amazon Wish List to help fulfil some of the gift needs for families of the mission.

During the community project we will:

  • Sort Christmas gifts into appropriate categories
  • Unbox and organize gifts
  • Wrap, bag, or box gifts for families
  • Organize wrapped/bagged gifts for transport
  • Discard and clean up wrapping materials

The Mills House

This year, for Davidson Day of Service, The Mills House will be volunteering at our local food bank — Lowcountry Food Bank. We’ll be dedicating the morning to packing shelf-stable food and sorting/bagging bulk produce to support children, seniors, and families in need throughout our community!

Newport Harbor Island Resort

Newport Harbor is partnering with the Martin Luther King Community Center again this year! The MLK Center promotes health, fights hunger, supports families, educates kids and engages seniors. We are collecting non-perishable food for their Food Pantry and volunteering our time at the food pantry.

Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia Center City & Sheraton Philadelphia University City

We will be going to Broad Street Love Homeless Shelter to serve the lunch meal to 300 guests.

Broad Street Love currently serves as the mailing address for 3,600 individuals – this is an essential step in helping guests establish residency, get identification, search for employment, and receive benefits. Those who take part in our mail service are more likely to obtain benefits and health insurance to help them build stability.

Broad Street Love offers lunch to over 300 guests every weekday.

Broad street love believes that Radical Hospitality is welcoming people in a way that goes above and beyond typical expectations. We reach past the traditional norms of social service to provide an open, welcome, safe space for guests, embracing every one of them with empathy and care. All are welcome at Broad Street Love, without barriers or requirements, to receive physical, mental, spiritual, and practical services.

Renaissance Orlando Resort Disney Springs Area

Will be visiting Give Kids the World Village to decorate 2 villas with Christmas trees so that the families staying from Thanksgiving to New Years have the holiday feel.

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach

We will do a beach cleanup to keep our hotel views looking pristine for our guests and community!

Hotel Zachary

Hotel Zachary will be volunteering with Cardz for Kidz, an organization committed to spreading joy and encouragement to people around the world through thoughtful, handmade cards. Our team will spend the day creating heartfelt, uplifting messages and decorating cards and lunch bags that will be delivered to patients and their families during some of their difficult moments. By taking the time to show we care, we hope to bring smiles, comfort, and emotional support to those who truly need it. We are also hosting a virtual food drive benefiting Nourishing Hope, whose mission is to nourish hope through food, mental health, and social services so that all of our neighbors can thrive. By donating through the virtual platform, participating in a Cubs-themed giving day, volunteering to create food boxes, and joining a 5K as part of our wellness and service initiative, we are directly supporting their mission.

Margaritaville San Diego & Hilton San Diego Gaslamp

We are teaming up to volunteer at the Jacobs and Cushman  San Diego Food Bank. We will be in Chula Vista, CA to help distribute food boxes to senior citizens.

Hotel Zephyr

Our managers Joyce, Melissa, Raffy, Jason, Lauren, and Dijana, will head over to the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers to help them to maintain their flower gardens. These tasks may include trimming, watering, and pulling weeds. We are grateful and looking forward to giving back to the community.

We are also in partnership with Embarcadero Safe which is a homeless shelter located at 555 Beale St. Last week Lauren dropped off approximately 25 large bags full of towels, pillows, blankets, and sheets that we no longer can use here. Our purpose here is to collect towels, sheets, blankets, food and gently used clothes to donate to the shelter, we will continue to do this initiative for the months of November and December. The managers took time to sort through and fold the towels and sheets that could be donated.

Our team also dropped off 6 bags of towels that we can no longer use to the San Francisco Animal Medical Center.

Paradise Point

Paradise Point Resort & Spa will be packing boxes of non-perishable food for the Thanksgiving Holiday at the San Diego Food Bank. The food bank gives out food to local San Diego Families in need. Emergencies like government shutdowns, natural disasters, and sudden financial setbacks leave families wondering how they’ll put food on the table. The San Diego Food Bank has different programs to assist families in need. From Food 4 Kids Backpacks to Senior Food Programs, the San Diego Food Bank is there to assist San Diegans through the roughest times.

Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach & Hilton Cape Rey Resort

Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach and Cape Rey Resort will be joining forces to give back to our community.

We’re proud to be partnering with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Carlsbad’s natural habitats. Their mission centers on environmental stewardship, education, and community engagement, all of which align closely with Davidson’s values.

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation plays an essential role in our community by maintaining public trails and easements, removing trash and debris to preserve our beaches and lagoons, and promoting local environmental education. Through efforts like trail maintenance, erosion control, and fishing line removal, volunteers directly contribute to the health of the lagoon and the surrounding ocean ecosystem.

For our coastal properties—HGI Carlsbad and Cape Rey—this partnership provides a special opportunity to protect and sustain the environment we live and work in every day.

Kimpton Cottonwood

Will be volunteering at the Food Bank for the Heartland. The food bank’s mission is to eliminate hunger in the Heartland by ensuring consistent access to healthy foods through community partnerships. The impact on the community will help as the government shutdown continues, hundreds of thousands of individuals across Nebraska and western Iowa will not receive their SNAP benefits in November. In response, Food Bank for the Heartland is preparing for an unprecedented surge in the need for food assistance.

The Cottonwood’s mission this November, is coming together to make a difference for families in our community. Across the Omaha area, local food banks are working diligently to meet growing needs. Throughout the month, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items to support those facing fear of going hungry.  Our hope is that every can, box, and donation represents more than just a meal. It’s a message of kindness, and care from our Cottonwood family. To make things even more fun, each donation bin will be tied to a Cottonwood leader. Team members can choose where to place their donations, and at the end of the drive, the leader with the most donations will receive a pie in the face!

Hyatt Centric Magnificent Mile

We participated in a Beach Cleanup Day for the City of Chicago. We positively impacted the community by helping to beautify our city and collected over 4 industrial size bags worth of trash that was along the Lake Michigan Shoreline.

We also have an ongoing contribution to the community in our partnership with The Southside Occupational Academy.  This is a transition school for special needs youth, who will be transitioning to the workforce.  During the school year, the students shadow and assist with various housekeeping, food & beverage, and administrative tasks.  The impact that this has on the community is a lasting one, as they are learning skills that they will be able to use for a lifetime.  We host the group of 12 students every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30am-12:30pm during the months of September through May. Each of the students has a team member assigned as their mentor to teach them the fundamentals of the workforce as they gain valuable job skills.

Little Rock Marriott / Courtyard Little Rock

Little Rock Marriott and Courtyard Little Rock will be volunteering for the Arkansas Food Bank. Both properties will be volunteering at one of the Arkansas Food Bank Food pantries packing and distributing food to families in need.  This will support families and individuals that live in our community.  Arkansas is one of the highest in food insecurity in the country.  1 in 5 Arkansans struggle to provide enough food for their family.  The food bank is able to supplement those families in need of food.

Bellyard

We will volunteer with Simple Needs GA, whose mission it is to meet the simple needs of children, people experiencing homelessness, and others in need, while inspiring our community to do the same. While agencies focused on these vulnerable populations are doing great work, most focus on the basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and job training. SNGA seeks to “fill in the gaps” by meeting other unmet, but important, needs. It is in these simple acts—bringing a tent to a person living in the woods, or providing birthday gifts to a homeless child—that we help connect people with the services that can improve their lives.

The Highland Dallas

We’re excited to share that Mockingbird Elementary, a local school serving Pre-K3 through 5th grade within Dallas independent school district, offers an exceptional curriculum including reading, math, science, art, music, PE, and computer science, as well as unique programs in sign language, choir, and a 20,000-square-foot outdoor science lab. Mockingbird Elementary is also known for its wonderful program for students who are deaf (grades K–4). Le Meridien Houston

We will partner with the Houston Food Bank. The food bank provides access to nutritious food to fuel a healthy life to around 1 million people in 18 counties in Southeast Texas.

We will volunteer at the Houston Food Bank warehouse on projects to inspect, sort, and repackage donated items that is distributed in Houston and its surrounding areas.

Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort is proud to partner with the County of Kauai Solid Waste Department in organizing this meaningful beach cleanup initiative. Together, we can make a lasting impact on preserving the natural beauty of our island and protecting marine life for generations to come.

Kauai’s beaches continue to face significant challenges from marine debris—particularly plastics and discarded fishing gear—due to the island’s geographic location. As one of the first points to receive debris from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Kauai is on the front line of ocean pollution.

In 2024 alone, over 162,000 pounds of trash were collected during island-wide cleanup efforts, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration among local organizations, residents, and hospitality partners.

This initiative not only supports environmental preservation but also strengthens our connection with the community and enhances the guest experience. By participating in our cleanup efforts, guests and team members alike contribute to a more sustainable future and help showcase the true spirit of aloha through care for our island home.

Davenport Collection

The team is planning to provide a thank you basket to our local 1st responders (police, fire stations) who respond to our properties. They are also holding a blood drive.

Westin SFO/Aloft SFO

Partnering with the Samaritan House/Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. The Samaritan House preserves the dignity, promote self-sufficiency, and provide hope to the San Mateo Country in need.

We support the Samaritan House and the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley Food Bank in San Mateo County by volunteering our wonderful team to help achieve their missions. We volunteers twice a year.

Embassy Suites Nashville Downtown

The team volunteered with PENCIL—a Nashville nonprofit dedicated to supporting Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). Our team spent the day:

  • Sorting donated school supplies for distribution to teachers and students.
  • Creating learning activities to support educators in the classroom.
  • Making stress balls to promote student wellness and engagement.

It was a rewarding experience that allowed us to directly contribute to the success and well-being of local students and teachers. PENCIL’s mission to connect community resources with public schools aligns beautifully with our values, and we’re proud to have supported their work.

Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook

The team will box up meals for Feed My Starving Children, an organization that works to provide personal care to families through our volunteers, donors, food distribution partners and meal recipients. And we mean it when we say it: “We want to reach everyone, until ALL are fed.” Because no one deserves to go hungry, especially when we can do something about it.

The organization has worked hard to create nutritious meal formulas that really meet the need of starving people, and this food makes a real impact in their lives.

Kimpton Harper

The team will volunteer at 4Saints and Friends Episcopal Food Pantry. Purpose of 4Saints Episcopal Food Pantry: The pantry exists to serve individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Fort Worth community. Rooted in the Episcopal Church’s mission of compassion and service, 4Saints provides nutritious groceries, fresh produce, and essential household items to those in need—offering not only food but also dignity, hope, and connection.

Impact During the Government Shutdown: During the recent government shutdown, 4Saints played a vital role in supporting families and federal employees affected by lost paychecks and service disruptions. The pantry expanded its outreach and adjusted distribution to meet the sudden rise in need, ensuring that no one in the community went hungry. Through the commitment of volunteers, donations, and partnerships with local organizations, 4Saints became a lifeline for many households, demonstrating the power of faith-based service in times of crisis.

Don CeSar & Beach House Suites

The team is volunteering at Building Beds, an that provides beds to kids in needs. We will volunteer to help build those beds.

It is estimated that over 7,000 children in Pinellas County do not have a bed to sleep in each night. Children who do not have their own bed often sleep on the couch, an air mattress, or worse, directly on the floor. This prevents them from getting the proper rest to be alert and learn in school. This organization works with over two dozen community agencies that advocate for local families.

The Westin Indianapolis

The Westin Indianapolis will partner with Wheeler Mission to provide food items to help feed the city’s homeless.

Wheeler Mission provides emergency care and recovery services to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, and need in Central Indiana.

Impact on the community, by the numbers

  • 7% of residents in Indianapolis live at or below the poverty line – approximately 134,918 people.
  • 1,619 people in Indianapolis are experiencing homelessness.
  • In a typical year, Wheeler Mission serves 414,610 meals, provides 258,366 nights of shelter, and helps 11,864 men, women, and children.

Our hope is that our donated food items will make a small impact in the lives of our neighbors who are currently experiencing homelessness, poverty and need here in Indianapolis.

The Westin St. Louis

The Westin St. Louis will be partnering with Tourism Trash Force to clean up the area surrounding the America Center. This takes place just in time to beautify our city before America’s Center hosts over 10 thousand people at their Super Computing event.

Tourism Trash Force is a branch of the St. Louis Downtown Community Improvement District, a group dedicated to making downtown STL safer, cleaner, and better overall!

Three Waters Resort, Amara Cay, La Siesta

The team will volunteer at the First Baptist Church of Key Largo, which demonstrates love through acts of compassion, outreach, and community involvement within the Florida Keys and beyond. The program provides nutritious, home-style Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families who may otherwise go without. It serves residents facing financial hardship, seniors living alone, and those without family support during the holiday season. By partnering with local organizations and volunteers, the church ensures hundreds of meals are prepared and delivered with care each year.

Three Waters Resort, Amara Cay, La Siesta

While the property has closed for renovation, the team has pooled all of our Household Items from the rooms such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, Keurig’s, irons, ironing boards, sheets and blankets and held a donation drive on site for local charities to come and pick up what they need to help the community.

We helped over 6 charities, including:

  • YMCA
  • Conexcion Latina
  • Local Women’s Shelter
  • Local Shelter for the Unhoused
  • Several non-profits in the area and through Providence, that assists unhoused people with gaining housing and furnishing.

We were so excited to give out over 100 of each item, that will go to families in need in the area.

Hyatt Regency Cincinnati

Hyatt Regency Cincinnati will be volunteering at the Freestore Foodbank’s Liberty Street Market, which offers a choice pantry, much like a regular grocery store, to those in need.  We will be stocking shelves and assisting customers in the market.  This market is so important because many Cincinnati residents, including many of our team members, live in food deserts with limited access to affordable healthy food.  For this reason, we have partnered with FSFB in various capacities for more than a decade.

Freestore Foodbank’s mission is to improve lives by eliminating hunger in partnership with our community, and our vision is to create a hunger-free healthy and thriving community.  To achieve this vision, objectives are to provide nutritious food, connect to support services and offering a pathway from crisis to stability. We provide 47.2 million meals each year in 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. With one in seven neighbors in our tristate area at risk of hunger, we are dedicated to addressing the need.

Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe

Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe will be partnering with Vista Rise Collective to donate boxes of food to families in need for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The mission of Vista Rise Collective is that they are committed to promoting a violence-free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

Cape Rey Carlsbad, A Hilton Resort & Spa and Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach

We combined forces across both properties, creating a stronger team presence and more hands to make a difference. Originally, we had planned for an outdoor volunteer project; however, due to unfavorable weather conditions, we quickly pivoted our plans and were still able to serve the same organization—Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation—in a meaningful way. The foundation recently relocated its non-profit operations into new spaces and needed support with interior painting. Our team gladly stepped up to help. It was a rewarding experience giving back to an organization that plays a vital role in preserving Carlsbad’s environment and supporting our local community.
