At Davidson, giving back to the communities in which we live and serve is intrinsically tied to our core value of “Always Do What’s Right.” From providing meals and supplies to local families to volunteering time and resources to impactful organizations, we are committed to making a positive difference wherever we can. Each year, our team members and partners come together through various initiatives, driven by compassion and a genuine desire to uplift those in need.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank plays a critical role in supporting local families, as 1 in 8 families in Georgia face food insecurity. To contribute to their impactful work, various team members at the corporate office came together to participate in a friendly competition as part of Davidson Day of Service, with all donations supporting the food bank.
In the spirit of competition, we broke into four different teams and were challenged to collect food items from the food bank’s “Most Needed Items List” to use them to creatively construct a model hotel from the Davidson portfolio. The teams built incredibly realistic versions of Hotel Viking, Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge, Grand Hotel, and The Don CeSar utilizing everything from canned goods to rice and peanut butter. Ultimately, the coveted Davidson Day of Service trophy was awarded to the HR/Legal/Marketing team (cleverly named the Pink Pioneers), who donated the most items (2,347 to be exact!) and built the most impressive hotel replica of The Pink Palace.
Following this fun and impactful event, all donated items will be delivered to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, helping to provide essential food and household items to families in need—just in time for the season of giving. We are proudly donating more than 8,594 items this year.
At Davidson Hospitality Group, we recognize that food insecurity affects countless individuals and families nationwide. As part of Davidson Day of Service, our teams partnered with local food banks and community organizations to tackle this pressing issue head-on. From organizing food drives and building creative food sculptures to volunteering at distribution centers, each initiative aimed to provide much-needed nourishment to underserved populations. These efforts not only supported those in need but also strengthened our bond with the communities we serve. Here’s how our hotels joined the fight against hunger.
Located in Cambridge, the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House supports the community through food assistance and various programs that help individuals plan for the future. This year, the team at Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge collected non-perishable food items and volunteered to prepare meals for residents. They also organized a book drive focused on children, engaging hotel guests in making a difference. The MLK Center in Newport County serves 6,232 individuals through programs in hunger relief, education, and community support. By hosting a food drive, the Newport Harbor Island Resort team contributed to the center’s mission to offer 120,000+ pounds of fresh food and other essential items monthly to Newport County residents. Serving 33 counties, the Arkansas Food Bank addresses hunger across central, eastern, and southern Arkansas. Little Rock Marriott’s team volunteered at the distribution center, helping pack items that reach families statewide through programs like Food For Kids and Food For Seniors.
Our Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago Leadership Team proudly volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, an organization dedicated to delivering hope and breaking the cycle of poverty. For four hours, our team boxed meals specially formulated to combat malnutrition. These meals are distributed worldwide to schools, orphanages, clinics, and feeding programs, helping to nourish communities and provide hope for a brighter future. Serving 20 counties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, Freestore Foodbank provides 37.7 million meals yearly. On November 21, the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati team will participated in the Holiday Food Box Distribution, supporting their vision for a hunger-free and thriving community. In Nashville, our team at Embassy Suites Nashville Downtown organized a food drive and will deliver collected items to Second Harvest, helping them serve the Middle Tennessee community with food access and resources for those facing food insecurity.
On November 8th, several Directors from the Nobu Miami Beach and Eden Roc Miami Beach helped collect food, perishables, and non-perishables for Joshua’s Heart Foundation.
Joshua’s Heart Foundation is a non-profit founded by a young man named Joshua, who is from Miami Beach, when he was only four years old. He made the decision at that young age to do his part to feed the hungry and that desire continues today over 20 years later.
We spoke to guests regarding donating, passed out fliers, sorted, and packed the donations received. We also gave Publix some of that luxury hospitality and service. It was a great day to do something good.
Caring for our environment and public spaces is an essential part of building strong, vibrant communities. From cleaning up storm-affected beaches to revitalizing historic parks, these efforts showcased our commitment to creating welcoming, sustainable spaces for residents and visitors alike. Here’s how our hotels stepped up to make an environmental impact in their local areas.

Together, the teams volunteered at Operation HOPE in Vista, California, a national nonprofit focused on empowering individuals through financial literacy, economic support, and resources for those facing significant challenges.
The teams dedicated over four hours of their day to help Operation HOPE’s mission, assembling 2,500 informational cards to be distributed across the community. These cards play an essential role in spreading awareness about Operation HOPE’s services and encouraging donations from community members, enabling the nonprofit to continue its impactful programs.
This experience not only supported an incredible cause but also brought the teams closer together and strengthened their ties with the community. It was a privilege to contribute to Operation HOPE’s mission, and the impact of this day will resonate as the cards reach individuals and families, spreading hope and support to those who need it most.
